Ronn won the 2nd Stage of the Desert Tracking class in the Rallye de Tunisie on Saturday. However on Sunday, only about one hour into stage Three, the Engine on the Nissan Patrol failed. Ronn and Sebastian worked on the engine throughout the day, letting the Sweeper truck pass by in the hopes of recovering. But they were unsuccessful in repairing the engine. Ronn and Sebastian slept in the desert in Libya on Sunday night far from the Rallye de Tunisia bivouac. No food, showers or tents for them! Finally on Monday they were able to obtain a tow for the Nissan Patrol. They were first towed to the border crossing between Libya and Tunisia, and then transferred to a Tunisian tow truck. They then headed to Djerba, Tunisia for a late arrival on Monday night Tunisian time. Ronn and Sebastian will spend the next day or two in Djerba recovering and then travel back to France.
Eric Virgouroux, Ronn's team mate on the Pro-Systems racing team, continues to do well in the Rallye de Tunisia, staying in the top three through Stage 4! wheresronn will continue to track Eric's progress through the Rallye.
